The Community Access Junior Board is a dedicated group of young professionals who volunteer their time, talents and energies to help us widen our reach in the community. Junior Board members use their social and business networks to raise funds to support our programs and to create events and opportunities that rally new friends around our cause.
2010 — 2011 Members
- Development Department, Lenox Hill Neighborhood House
Amy currently works in the Development Department for Lenox Hill Neighborhood House, a settlement house on the Upper East Side that serves more than 20,000 people in need each year, ages 3-103. She graduated from Northwestern University in 2007 where she majored in Social Policy and minored in Business Institutions. Her experience as a mentor to a woman with developmental disabilities through Northwestern's Best Buddies program taught her the importance of empowering people with mental illness, and she joined the Community Access Junior Board to raise awareness of a worthy cause with likeminded peers in New York City.

Molly Coe is a Brooklyn native and 2008 graduate of Boston University. She keeps busy with two jobs: one as a project assistant at Volunteers of Legal Service and one conducting outreach for the free legal information website LawHelp.org/NY. Molly plans to begin law school in the fall of 2011, with the hope of using a law degree to increase low-income New Yorkers' access to justice. She is a swimmer and a dancer, and in 2009 competed at the World Irish Dance Championships.

Lauren Hammond graduated from the University of Michigan in 2005 and moved to New York City shortly afterwards. She currently works in Legal Recruiting at Shearman & Sterling LLP and is additionally pursuing a Master's Degree in Industrial/Organizational Psychology at New York University.

Elizabeth Katz is a native New Yorker and currently a graduate student in Organizational Psychology at New York University. She completed her undergraduate degree at Duke University in North Carolina.

Jessica grew up in Washington, DC and graduated from Bates College. She just got her masters in social work at Columbia University and will be the school social worker at Achievement First, which is a charter school in Crown Heights, Brooklyn. She believes strongly in empowering people with a mental illness and has really enjoyed her time with Community Access. Jessica loves to play tennis and the violin.

Alex Putterman grew up in Oyster Bay, NY and graduated from Duke University in 2007. He has a degree in computer science and began working in the field of finance upon graduation. He has always had a passion for helping others and has been involved in numerous community service projects since high school. Alex is very excited to be involved with Community Access and looks forward to spreading awareness of the organization among his fellow New Yorkers.

An MIT graduate, Jordan now lives and works in Connecticut - a fair distance from his original hometown of Saskatoon in Saskatchewan, Canada. In addition to serving on the Community Access Junior Board, he is also a member of the Community Access 2011 New York City Marathon Team.
